Les Miserable - the movie

Is anyone else obsessed? I have only just watched the trailer and it looks amazing. Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Hugh Jackman ( I know I said this twice!)

The cast list is just stunning! But to make it even better they are singing LIVE! No pre-recording.  They are amazing actors and the singing sounds amazing! Anyway I can't have a post without videos so here is the trailer for you to see for yourself!

Also a bit more information and some interviews from the cast

I will say right now that I LOVE Hugh Jackman. Not only is he Australian but he is a stunning actor, and singer. I saw him live when he did Boy from Oz the musical he would have been 10 metres away singing I still call Australia home. It was stunning. I am crazy about him. But the cast for this is stunning. So many big names that I love. I'm not sure I want to wait until Boxing Day! (day after Christmas)

So tell me what you think of the first look at this movie!

Monday 24 September 2012

So I have been busy today

I started the day by cleaning and cleaning. We are finally having a house warming/ birthday party (my birthday is in two weeks) so I am in charge of unpacking downstairs and sorting it all into shelves. It's going to be an enormous project!

Outside of that it was craft group today.  Because its school holidays I was free on a Monday and able to go. Which was very very very good for Ink Circles '99 I managed to get 4 1/2 bottles finished though I am probably short of my christmas goal because I can't stitch at night on it, because of Phill.

I love how this stitches up. It's very fun.

In the evenings and on the weekends I have been doing Christmas stitching.  I finished another Skyline. The one for Sydney.

Started the ginger bread man :D

Then I was talking to Rhona over at tangled threads and she mentioned that there are penguins on her site I hadn't bought yet. When I went to look I found there were 3 sets that I hadn't bought yet!

So I had to buy the Christmas Penguins, the Party Penguins and the Penguin Alphabet! Because I had just bought it I had to start stitching one of the penguins tonight! (I was getting sick of metallics!)

So here is my start on the Christmas Lights Party Penguin. Don't ask me why but I am doing it on the navy blue aida. I wanted to see the effect :D enjoying working on colour.

So I have been stitching busy and hope I can get some more bottles done tomorrow but cleaning comes first!

happy stitching

Crazy Life

Life has been going crazy! Just lots of stuff happening all at once. It's almost school holidays so I am looking forward to getting my house clean again. I will have time to organise though I am going to be lonely during the day.

But even having been busy I have got some stitching done. I finished an ornament :D

the Ho! Ho! Ho! by Full Circle Designs. It's on a random Polstitches fabric. It's a green coloured fabric which you can kinda tell here.

I'm glad this is finished not sure why but I didn't really enjoy this one. Could be because I never got a chance to really sit down and work on it. It was my portable project.

I have started another ornament. I went through my mini kits looking for christmas ones and I came to this booklet. From Issue 183 of World of Cross Stitch it came with red and gold madeira metallics. So I am trying out some new threads. I actually like working with these madeira threads. They aren't fraying much at all. Which is great working with metallics.

This is the City Skyline for London. I want to make up the whole set but see how I feel. This is done on 14ct light green aida. Not sure about the colour but it suits the Christmas theme. I bought some navy if I want to do more which will really bling.

Also I have another new start. This one is secret, at least from Phill so I can only stitch it at certain times of the day.

It's Ink Circles '99 which I love. I started it yesterday so there is only a little of the middle shelf done. Hope I can get this done by Christmas.

Happy Stitching :D

August WIPocalypse no.2!

Well I'm only a couple of days late for this WIPocalypse but considering my week I'm not surprised!

I have been stitching quite a bit in the last 3 weeks more than I thought once I started taking pictures of everything.

First things first I have a couple of finishes! I finished Sampler Aux Fleurs which I showed you in another post but here is another picture because!

I've also finished a Christmas small. I am getting a good start on these for Christmas!

He is from one of those Christmas magazines last year part of the free gift section but I didn't like the threads so I replaced all the colours with ones in my stash but I love the way the turned out. Better colours.

Started another ornament too Ho!Ho!Ho! by Full Circle designs. It's from the Just Cross Stitch that came out this year with 12 ornaments in it. I love this design. Should be finished soon when I actually put the time on it!

I really need to get cracking with all my Christmas stuff for this year. It is getting closer and closer!

I have been working on Afternoon Tea :D and making good progress... I use a mix of stitching techniques on this one. I won't have much work on this one for a little while as all the Christmas and birthday knitting will have to take priority!

Here is the before pic :D

Done more than I thought considering how little time I actually spent on this one! I am thinking of starting a rule with this one to put at least one stitch into it each day ... maybe that might get it done quicker!

Oh and because I finished Sampler Aux Fleurs I started a new bigger project!

The Winter Fairy by Joan Elliott. One day I want to stitch the whole set of these fairies but this one is a good start. I love the purples in the fabric and on this design. This will be slow and steady wins the race as the Christmas stuff is more important.

Do you notice a trend in what I have been saying?

I want at least 1 more if not 2-3 more Christmas smalls finished this month because if I don't I won't get it all done! So that is my goal we shall see if I make it!
