Mini Progress

So you've convinced me! I have this thing that the chart needs to be what it is... and I love the concept of a calendar but I love the design with or without the January so I think after Christmas I might look into buying it and changing it a little to suit me. It looks like such a pretty series.

To answer a question that came up... I don't know of any calendar series for this part of the world but I am thinking of fiddling and seeing what I can make.

I do have a couple of little progress pics I haven't been feeling really good so I haven't been stitching much.

Both sides are finished and I've started to sew them together which is why it's wonky.
and because it looks cool :D

I've also started one of the free gifts from Enjoy Cross Stitch at Christmas 2011. Phill reminded me about his brother's girlfriend and how I hadn't made anything for her yet.

So here is a start on her gift we see her on friday so we'll see how it goes!

I'm not feeling at all well so I really don't know.

mini complaint

So I live in the southern hemisphere! We currently are in the middle of Summer though it's been a surprisingly mild summer so far! But WHY oh why do I have to fall in love with designs that just do not work with my climate!

I LOVE this calendar set that I have seen from country cottage needle works

But snow in the middle of January? This would never suit my house! But it's such a gorgeous design, and I can't use it! I can't even buy them all and mix up the month names because we don't even get snow in winter here. We freeze before it even gets close to 0 degrees.

So instead I am not going to buy these designs and not going to stitch them because I can't use them and they aren't relevant but they are so gorgeous I really want them!

IHSW

Boy I had a fun weekend! I managed to stitch quite a lot of the day Friday before going out dancing for the end of the year party. I don't go dancing enough anymore I keep falling asleep and can't keep going. Phill still dances every week and he is even teaching classes now. (Oh we do Modern Jive) But with working so much I find I just want to sit and stitch in the evenings and relax though I have made a pact to go dancing every FRIDAY in the new year... we shall see how long that lasts.

Anyway that was Friday! Saturday I spent the morning at the hairdressers getting my hair cut and coloured. I will post photos of my hair cut up but in a seperate post.

Saturday afternoon I stitched and then cooked dinner Saturday night. We watched the first part of Going Postal by Terry Pratchet the second part comes on next week. I spent the night stitching on Boxers and this is where I left it!

They look so cute :D You can really start to see the whole shape of this dog! I love the colours in these dogs.

Sunday I had to visit spotlight to get some ribbon to finish off my biscornu and here it is finished :D

I tied a bow in the ribbon and sewed it onto the top of the biscornu and then glued the ends a little way down the edge. This way it is more versatile.

And I started the next one to give to Phill's Grandparents.

This one is very Christmasy! I love the ways the different colours are changing this design even though they are all based off the same design.

Well I had a busy weekend! I stitched and stitched and got a lot done.

Boxers and blue ornaments

well I have a BOXERS update !!! So excited!

I had some fun with photo bucket and worked out how to create collages. Still not exactly what I was looking for but I will have to keep fiddling!

The top half is the close up of the dog, all the new work is the right paw and the chest. A lot of white and greys in this section. It looks so cute I love working on them they always make me smile. After Christmas they become my main project and they're coming with me down to Canberra.

I've also been working on my blue and silver ornaments.
Another effect I've found in Photobucket. I love fiddling with programs.

This ornament is so stunning the silver really glitters.

I want to get this ornament onto a computer program but I've been using a program called kg stitch but it isn't doing what I want. I need a program that will let me save the files as PDFs and be able to distribute them if I want to. I would like to make a little bit of money from my cross stitch to help fund my habit if at all possible..... so if anyone knows a program please tell me.
