WIP - Beacon and Daybreak!

I have actually done some stitching that I can share as a Work in Progress. So often I can only share my work at the moment after I have finished it and it's published. But this week I have been spending some time on Beacon at Daybreak. So I want to show you my progress because I'm happy with how it is going :D

I have that whole section on the left before the path finished. It is all done. Now I am focusing on the path and I want to get that finished. This piece is so easy to carry around. I'm between other projects so this is good to stitch on. Also not having a deadline makes me so much happier with this project. I seem to always be rushing my other projects trying to get them done quickly to release the patterns and it's not as fun. I need to find the balance. Probably better if I managed to work 2 magazines ahead not just one. I will get there one day. I have time at lunch I just need to use it properly. Also need to get my head working a few seasons ahead. I am weird about drawing at the moment. It will all work out though :D

Crafting update 24.2.19

So I start uni in a days time so I wanted to give everyone an update on how my crafts are currently tracking.

I've bought myself a cross stitch frame but haven't had a large chance to use it as I have been stitching in hand more. But I'm excited to see what will become of my large pieces when using this frame as it should make it easier.

Here it is with my snow white biscornu displayed. It does hold it nicely solid and it means I can sit more comfortably. But the real test is with my big frames and I just haven't had a chance.

I've been stitching mainly on little pieces. I managed a small finish of a kit my mum got me from Ireland when they visited. It's a key ring and I've already passed the finished piece onto my brother-in-law to be.

I've started my next piece it's a Celtic bookmark. The reason for so many little starts is that these pieces live in my purse for doing while I'm out and about. I enjoy having a project available all the time.

Then I've been working seriously on beacon at daybreak. I'm hoping to get this finished in the next couple of months but we shall see.... plans of mice and all. But for the moment I'm really enjoying working on it as it just makes me happy. It's all about the happy.
This is where it was a couple of weeks ago.  This left corner didn't have a lot in there yet....
Significantly more on this piece. It's truly getting closer and closer.

I have also been drawing... I did this little character one day at work but I wasn't entirely happy with the pose but didn't know how to fix it as I'd drawn it in pen. You can see the legs are very out of proportion to everything else.

Thankfully the other day I got introduced to a program on my phone called Autodesk sketchbook. This little app is full of sooo much useability. The biggest thing is the ability to create layers and pull in pictures. So I did and I pulled in this little picture and fixed up to pose then coloured it in. So cute! I am so proud of this little character and I'm in the process of turning it into a cross stitch pattern so please stay tuned I'm about half way through at the moment.
I'm going to leave this update here and I hope to get the pattern done in the next couple of weeks. But we shall see as time always gets away from me!

WIP Wednesday

So for the first time in a couple of weeks I haven't been working on my granny stripe. I have been stitching.

I've been working on Beacon at Daybreak. It's an interesting one because I'm constantly having to change what I'm doing. Sometimes I'm working with three strands sometimes just 1 and then I'm swapping between full and half crosses. It takes a bit of concentration.

It's been really good to actually stitch and get stuff done. Back to my assignments.

On that note before I go I have some great news. I managed to get my Diploma of Business and I've only got 3 units left before I am finished my Diploma of Management. I'm getting so excited I am really close to finishing... It won't be long now!

WIP Wednesday

Welcome to my week! Gosh it's been absolutely crazy. We went camping over the weekend and I will be spending all week catching up with the clothes that are dirty. Actually a lot of them aren't dirty it's just they ALL end up in the washing machine. That and I've had a sick man home since camping.

But while we were there I enjoyed the camp fire and James had some rainbow fire stuff. Which turned the fire all sorts of beautiful colours. My little camera takes some awesome photos!

So because I was away camping all weekend and I'm the smart girl that loves to take a bag of crafts camping I did actually manage to do some cross stitch also some work on my blanket but not enough to show you. I was using my blanket as a blanket to keep warm.

I added the brown and purple while I was gone.

WIP Wednesday

woohoo! I'm almost finished the A-Z challenge and there was only one day where I managed to stuff up my planning. BUT I posted the next day twice sooo... it counts in my mind. There is only today and tomorrow left and I have them all planned out.

But enough of the challenge I have to show you some progress. AND I have made progress. It's not much but I am actually sitting down in the evenings and turning my computer off and crafting.

So have fun I'm going to get myself organised and write some more.

Happy Stitching,
Caitlin
