Chickens are a pain ... they don't listen to reason!

Well my wonderful chickens that came with the house are slightly crazy.

Chicken Little (the one in the above photo) was very eager to be fed when I appeared outside so she flew up to talk to me!

Now 3 weeks ago they stopped laying or so we thought. They had been wonderful and laying all the time in the box we very nicely provided for them... then they suddenly stopped.

Today we found out why! We lost Chicken Little, looked everywhere for her when my father noticed a bit of white under a bush!

She was nesting! On a pile of eggs that would have to be at least a couple of weeks old!

You can see the different coloured eggs... they have both been laying here! Annoying chickens!

So now we know that they didn't go off the lay ... they have been laying under a bush. So now there is a brick under the bush and we need to go find a fake egg to put in the laying box. At least this explains our dilemma.

Just thought you might be interested in the fun of having chickens that wander the yard.

Ohk so the teasing can stop

I have my pictures of the new start. I just wanted to have a decent start to show.

I finally grabbed out my fabric and threads for Joan Elliott's Winter Fairy. I was kinda scared to touch it because being polstitches fabric I can't wash it when it's finish and there is a lot of white in this piece.

A lot of the bottom of her dress is white as you can see so I am going to have to be very careful.

So here is my new start.

Of course the purple of the fabric hasn't been captured properly it's quite a bit redder rather than bluer.

I love this piece and am so excited to finally be working on it.

On a sadder note, Phill's grandma died at 93 this past week so we have to fly down to Canberra for the funeral. So much for saving money... We fly tomorrow so I won't be around for a couple of days. Hope it isn't to hard.

Oh and to make it more annoying I can't take any stitching on the plane as cross stitch needles aren't allowed but I can take knitting ... go figure!

 Anyway, Happy Stitching everyone.

Jardin Prive - Sampler Aux Fleurs

Many Many photos.

These photos were all taken at around the same time in the same light and yet all the colours are different! I give up trying to photograph this properly. The purples will never show right.

I love this piece. Enjoy the photos I will show you my new start at the end of the weekend :D
Happy Stitching :)

Well... It's finished!

I haven't been able to put it down! But it is finally finished! I have a really really bad photo to show you but I couldn't wait to show it to everyone!

I haven't been able to stitch on anything else since I realised how close I was to finishing it.

I will get a much much better photo as soon as I can but I just had to show everyone.

It is Sampler Aux Fleurs by Jardin Prive stitched on 14ct cream aida with DMC 52. I adore the colour and it has been so much fun to stitch. The first recorded photo of this piece was on the 11/3/2012 so not a bad effort to finish it in August.

Now what to start next.... I don't have the threads yet for baroque ...

Happy Stitching,
Caitlin

No stitching but...

I have been busy buying stash!

I was tempted by this last sale at HAED though why I was I don't know I will never have enough time!

 I bought 3 charts
Book of Dreams
Mini Sasha and Jett
Mini So Many Books So Little Time
Also since I am so close to finishing Sampler Aux Fleurs I had to think about Baroque

I really love the fabric I picked but it wouldn't go with the blue designated so I had some fun with a floss toss.

I love the autumnal colours but there are too many colours here ... I worked out I can separate the border into inner and outer fairly easily and I have the nine squares inside so I can have some fun with colours. Now I just have to decide ... and finish Sampler Aux Fleurs ....

Happy Stitching :D

1st August WIPocalypse

Now I am a little late but I have been really busy with work and trying to catch up with my blogs. I slacked off while moving and haven't been able to catch up since. I am down to 200 to look at now I think.... I will say that if you have a pass code to post on your blog I probably don't reply because it's a pain to do on my phone.

Now onto the important part the stitching.

I will start with Afternoon Tea. I have been busy with this one though it is never the main focus.

I am spanning 2 pages here so I am not sure how long this is going to take but I love working on it even though it's a LOT of black! Starting to fill in the leaf just to get away from black for a while.

I also made some significant progress on Sampler Aux Fleurs

I'm getting down to the final motifs which is getting very exciting ... I will have to get the thread for baroque ready to go soon... maybe a finish sometime in September?

And here is a close up of the section I have been working on recently.  My count is off somewhere but I really don't care because the nature of this sampler means they fit just a little closer it's not critical.

Also I have already started on my Christmas stitching which is great. I am one ornament down ad 20million to go!

I have started the second it's from the christmas magazine from last year I think... I'm enjoying it though it's slow going because I am not rushing with Christmas yet ... (ask me in a couple of months and I will be!)

So here is my update only 3 weeks until the next one is due so I had better get stitching.

Happy Stitching

A Chef, dinosaur and some flowers!

Well I have finished the little chef but shhhh..... don't tell my mother! It looks like her and will be her Birthday present in a month. Though it is 100% finished as I still need to make the donut for him to sit in.

I also finished the t-rex dinosaur I think I first posted about this guy at the end of January! I really didn't enjoy knitting him but I needed my needles to make the donut and the chef and all those guys. Because I didn't enjoy making him I didn't really bother to photo him until now because I am giving him away tonight to a little boy who will love him! Not sure why I didn't enjoy making him .... maybe because he's wonky!

I only have one set of size 3 needles that I use for my little toys so I can only have one toy going at a time. It saves my sanity!

I also have been busy with Sampler Aux Fleurs because it can easily go to school. So I have got a couple more motifs finished and one half done!

Sorry it's so wrinkly it gets shoved in the bag a little.....

I love this lace it looks so nice.

Done the flower in the vase and started the lacy flowers to the right.

Happy Stitching!
