TUSAL, stitching and life

So I am a week late with my TUSAL and it's really boring this month. It is just afternoon tea with a couple of bits of purple mixed in. Lots of green and brown and lots of black!

But I have got some stitching updates. I got a package in the mail this past week :D I bought some fabric from Colours of The Outback. A lady who hand dyes her own fabrics over in perth. I bought a fabric called sunburnt country in 32ct opal luguna :D It is stunning!

It arrived in a lovely envelope and I was so excited!

Now I couldn't really get an accurate photo of the colour. The top one is too dark and the bottom one is too washed out but it gives you an idea of what it looks like. So much colour and it all sparkles. I can't wait to start stitching on it but it will have to wait until after I finish Jardin Prive.

Speaking of which I have made some progress... not much because I had to go backwards. The little row of circly things across the top of these two motifs was very easy to do BUT the pattern didn't have them at regular intervals. it had a random 3 space in the middle which I didn't realise was there. So I based the right motif on the border above and you can see my problem? Basically out came the 2nd motif which was finish and I recounted it to be correct. I left the top part as is because I wanted it to be even not uneven. But I know to count the whole motif from now on!

I really haven't done much on this piece.

And Afternoon Tea :D Well I did manage a bit and almost finished another leaf.

Now onto the important part of this post :D
House!
We made an offer on a house today so we shall see how that pans out in the next couple of weeks. I will keep you updated. I am really hoping we can come to some sort of deal!

Work
Well my boss has stuffed it up again. I found out when searching for loan information that I haven't been paid super at all! He hasn't paid me anything since I started working for him when I found that out I talked to mum and she hasn't been paid super and nor has my friend in admin. So that is 3 people who haven't received super from him which makes me worry! Where has it been paid to?

Life
Life is going to change drastically over the next couple of months. If we do get this house we will need to move in but even more importantly we will have to work out how to live together all the time. I currently spend 90% of my time at Phill's anyway but it will be interesting when that house is both of ours.

I try to look at everyone's blogs but it has been going slightly crazy here with the end of term. It should hopefully get better soon! I am a week behind.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that :D

Well I love love love working with this purple. I tend to carry this one with me and work on it in my breaks at work.

Whole piece so far :D
Close up of recent work.
I love the little things that keep appearing admist everything else.  Like the flower below.

Cute little flower
The cute bee flying around the place
It's the little things that jump at me when I am doing this. That make me smile as they appear.

And in the evenings I have been working on Afternoon Tea
I'm half a page done now :D It is getting closer but most of the rest of this page is black! which will be interesting.

Life
It's state elections this weekend and I am getting so sick of both sides flinging propaganda at each other. Noone has a nice word and all they do is throw stones at the other. I wish we could survive without politicians!

I'm really really looking forward to Easter this year as I'll be heading out to Boondooma Dam again. It is such a fun week away.

Anyway Have fun :D

Liebster Award :D

I was awarded the Liebster Blog award by two lovely people! Lesli over at Fabulous Frogger and Debbie at Debbie's Cross Stitch and I think there was a third but I'm not sure exactly who gave me that one but thank you :D!

Here are all the details about the Liebster Blog award:

Liebster is a German word, meaning favorite, dearest or beloved, and the Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition.  The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:

1.  Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster to.
2.  Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3.  Post the award on your blog.  List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites.  Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.
4.  Share five random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.

I am giving the Liebster Blog award to these wonderful bloggers, in no particular order :D It's hard to find people I follow with under 200 followers :D

  1. Ziggyeor's Loopyness - she is doing such a cute little ferret
  2. Tangled Threads -Rhonda has the most gorgeous designs she makes the cutest little penguins :D I love stitching her designs.
  3. Leftsox - has made some gorgeous pieces and her designs are wonderful too. I love the hexagon embroidered pincushion thingy she has just finished.
  4. Tapestry Moon - A lovely lady who is trying to get known as a beading and cross stitch designer. They are gorgeous fairies.
  5. Keeble's World - A wonderful blog of disney fun and HAED's :D I love disney and HAED's!
ETA: oh and since 2 people gave me the award I'm adding an extra person into my list :D
     6. Cross Stitch and Other Musings - Ewa is a lovely lady with HAED's and chatelaines and a very                    funny BF :D

Oh and five things about me :D That I haven't already told anyone....
  1. I am a catcher in a softball team with my mum and my sister and we had the first game of the season today.
  2.  I'm really really afraid of Spiders I have nightmares and scream about the slightest one.
  3. We went and looked at a house this weekend and I love it, I'm so excited about finding a house and having a home of my own. I really really want a home of my own.
  4. I love my work and the teaching but I'm going to quit (by the end of the year) because I can't trust my boss to be a boss. Nor can I trust him to do something just because he's said he will.
  5. I want kids :D I want a big family of kids. I love working with kids and love being around them and I really want kids.

Edit: I added another name in my list :D

Afternoon Tea :D

I have done quite a bit for me ... it always seems to be taking such a long time to get anywhere. But then I step back and see the colours of the piece and see the leaves appearing and I fall in love with this piece again. It will take such a long time but it is exciting :D

I fiddled the colours in the close up of the second so that it looks more realistic. For some reason my camera will NOT take a decent photo of the colours I tried all sorts of different settings but it keeps making it blue. Oh well the colour is still stunning.

Life is as ever extremely crazy. But I have started watching Charmed. I've almost finished the second  season. My mum bought them for me from a sale and I am slowly paying her back. She's holding them hostage :D

Anyway it's almost time for bed :D Sweet dreams everyone!

A little bit more :D

Sorry for not replying to everyone's blogs. I am really not liking the  new codes and I tend to ignore those blogs. Also I am so behind at the moment because we currently have no internet access at work.

Well I don't really have an update for Afternoon Tea. I have worked on it a bit but not much.

I have been working on Jardin Prive. Sampler Aux Fleurs

I love the way the colours look on this piece :D So happy :D I really really need to set up my light and work on Afternoon Tea but I think I may work some more on this ... or afternoon tea... such a hard decision!

New start

well I want to start Baroque's inkcircles but I can't do so without fabric and stuff so I started another piece I've had for a while so that I get something else out of the way before I attempt it. So excited.

So I started Jardin Prive's Sampler aux fleurs. It's on 14ct Aida as that is the only fabric I have in my stash. It's fabric my grandma gave me from when she used to stitch a bit. It's a cream coloured aida which you can't tell by the photo.

I am using DMC 52 a variegated purple which is much more red than this picture suggests. It wouldn't take a nice photo. This is my carry around project so that I can leave afternoon tea in one place as I really do need a craft light to see it properly without headaches. I love the way the purple is and I love the motifs on this design. It's a good warm up for baroque.

Oh and speaking of Afternoon Tea

I've done a little bit more over on the right. But we didn't get home until 8:30 last night so that kinda cuts into stitching time.

Life has been crazy at the moment. My cold is still around but it's not giving me headaches anymore it's just messing with my voice. I don't know which is worse! I've managed to pull my back out and I know why. I don't do enough exercise and my back is yelling at me for it. But now it's hard to exercise when it hurts so much!I also need to watch how I move in classes and not be quite so violent in the movements.

But other than that life is moving on as normal. Still kinda looking for a house or something because the current arrangement isn't working. Well it kinda works but not very well as I don't have room here for my stuff. Which means all my spare cross stitch supplies live at my parents. which can get annoying but oh well :)

WIPocalypse and wonderful people!

Actually I will deal with the wonderful people first. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the lovely lady who RAK'd me a whole pile of of the charts that I was looking at the other day.

So to that end I need some sort of fabric to start Baroque. (just don't tell Phill till it's too late to not keep going :D) What fabric and what thread should I use for this piece.

Though on 36ct this piece ends up being 15x15 inches. I've never stitched on anything smaller than 28ct... Any advice on fabrics and threads would be appreciated. I am thinking some sort of greeny brown thread (never tried any fancy threads before!) and a nice light brown coloured fabric so help away please! (I need to be able to order it online.)

So since last time I posted for Wipocalypse I have had a finish :D as many of you know!

It has been washed once I just need to wash it again and iron it so mum can frame it. I will get to it ...

Also I have been working hard on afternoon tea and have finished over 2500 stitches... it;s a bit patchy so I haven't counted exactly how many I did my old math trick of counting the boxes and adding half ones together :D

Yesterday evening I had been here but I sat and stiched most of the evening.

and here is where I finished up :D I love the colours on this piece. Though there is a LOT of black in this!

Now I am going to go and die in a corner. I'm getting really sick of being sick I get cold after cold! I can't wait 'til this one leaves me for a while.
