Cup of Tea?

Well it's the perfect weather to be sitting down with a wonderful cup of tea. Although the sun is starting to come out from behind the clouds this morning it was pouring down rain. I have been in a cuddle down and stitch/crochet mood this weekend.

When I wasn't winning the softball Grand Final that is!!!!!!!!!! It was an awesome way to end the softball season. We have come so close many times before but this year was our year! I was so nervous on Saturday that come Saturday night I was drained. I curled up in bed with my crochet and a book and didn't move!

Back to the reason you are all here. I assume you want to see stitching photos :D I have been powering along with afternoon tea and managed to finish the column. There is lots of black then suddenly lots of confetti.

It never seems like much until you count how many stitches that is. I think I've done almost 1000 stitches in that small column. I still love this piece.
I don't think I've shown you the awesome bags my mum made. Each of my big projects on the millenium frames now has a calico bag to protect them from dust and dirt. It will fit the project with or without the stretcher bars in. I love how much nice than the pillowcase it looks. And my big frame for Masquerade Pale Dawn is in one bag not two pillowcases.

Now I did say crochet as well.
You can see the start of the blue row happening here as well. I love the way the colours are going in this piece. It is great to sit down and just crochet when my head is exhausted and concentrating just
isn't going to happen, or when I really need to keep reading that Terry Pratchet!

Now I asked a question at the beginning of this post.
Does anyone want a cup of tea?

I'm enjoying my gorgeous owl mug and my Twinings Australian Afternoon Tea. I have to have milk in tea but rarely do I put sugar in. Only when I want a really strong Assam Bold. I used to be crazy about leaf teas and although I have a lot I'm usually too lazy to bother. I do have a pretty purple teapot and mug when I do make up a pot.

How do you have your tea?
Do you have a favourite mug?
Milk and sugar?

Curiosity is getting the better of me :D

Happy stitching,

  1. Great stitching. I have the stock standard white and two although I am trying to cut the sugar out. I blame my Dad who used to have 4 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of tea lol.

  2. Congrats on winning the final! Awesome!
And your stitching is gorgeous too. Great having those bags to store your projects.

I am more of a coffee girl than tea. But I like green Jasmine tea a lot. No sugar or milk though. Here in the Netherlands it is very uncommon to put milk in your tea. (Can you imagine? :) )

  3. Lovely stitching! :) I switch to crochet when I'm brain dead too. It's so much less complicated than cross stitch, and so much easier to fix when you do make a mistake.

I usually drink my tea straight, but then I almost never drink black tea. I like green tea, rooibos and other herbal teas. If I do drink black tea it's a chai, and then there's lots of milk and honey. :D

  4. Congrats on the win !
    Lovely stitching and crochet.
My tea is just plain old Tetley with milk and a little cold water added as I can't drink it too hot. Got into the habit of a milky coffee when I get back from the school run too .x

  5. Wonderful crafty progress. Oooooh what Terry Pratchett are you reading, I'm a BIG fan of his work. I take milk, no sugar. I'm quite a fan of Ceylon tea and am the same as you in that I love leaf tea but often don't make it!

  6. Such wonderful busy-ness. Your cross stitch and crocheting progress is looking great. Grats on the game. And yes I think I would love a cup of tea about now...this morning's chill has me wanting some warmth. LOL

  7. Lovely stitching :)

I love Yorkshire teabags and always have milk and sugar in my tea. There's been a time where I had to do without milk and that was fine but I just can't go without sugar in the tea.

  8. Afternoon tea is coming along beautifully! It's a fabulous design. I like my tea really strong with just a tiny drop of milk in it....and I LOVE it in a china mug....something my Granny always did and I used to laugh at her saying it tasted better in a china mug....but she was right! :) Your owl mug is cute.
    Congrats on the win.
I'm off to make another cuppa now that you've got me thinking about tea!!!

  9. Wonderful progress Caitlin. Love the colors in your blanket.

  10. Congrats on all your progress on Afternoon Tea, it looks fantastic I especially love how the border is turning out. Mum's calico bags are brilliant too.

I only drink herbal tea (when I drink tea at all) and that's just a tea bag in a mug of hot water. But I love your owl mug it's very cute.

  11. Congratulations on winning the final!! Yay!

Your stitching looks super! That is a lot of progress!

  12. Congrats on your big win! :)

Your stitching looks great and I love the bags your mom made you - they look like the perfect fit.

As for teas, I tend to lean towards the fruity flavors with Pumpkin Spice being my most favorite!

  13. Great progress, you really need the Before and After pictures for this sort of design!

Despite being 100% English, I'm not really a tea drinker. I have coffee, instant, white with one sugar. I do however have mugs which must be used in the correct order! Or I get confused as to how many cups I have had that day LOL

Thank you for your comments I love to hear from you.
